Resources for Remote Work

Overview

When working remotely or off-campus, there are two primary options available to faculty and staff for securely connecting to university resources. Based on your role and need, one option may be a better fit than the other. You are welcome to use both at any time at no cost.

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Virtual Private Network (VPN), provides encrypted connectivity to university systems and resources using the GlobalProtect VPN client. Use this service to request new VPN access or receive support diagnosing and resolving issues with your VPN connection.

The virtual desktop is available to all faculty and staff as a secure option to access:

  • A Windows 11 desktop with Outlook, Office, Teams, Zoom, web browsers, and various other common productivity applications.
  • Non-persistent only.  Once logged off, all contents of the computer are deleted.  Work must be saved to network mapped drives or OneDrive
  • Session idle limit of 1 hour
  • Operating System and applications, including updates, are managed by the ISS VDI team
  • Preconfigured at no cost to current CUDenver/CUAnschutz Faculty and Staff
